This started out as a photoblog, containing a collection of photos of the Reed (Reid) family who resided in Rockingham Co, VA and Barbour Co, WV. Please continue to share photos that you might have, and also let me know if you can identify anyone in the "unknown" pictures. That said, as you can see I want to transition from just photos to the sharing of genealogical research, and would again much appreciate your informational contributions.

I have some photos of a reed family house taken in 2000. I had went back to visit farm where i had grown up and this house was close to it and walked out to see if it was still standing. Last i had been there was in 83 and i wondered what place looked like now. I am not sure who lived there or when ( looked long abandoned in early 80's ) but i was told that place belonged to reed family can email them upon request
I am VERY interested in knowing about the Reed Home and if anyone might know its exact location and the identity of the people in it.
I descend from the Reed Family from Harrison County and Barbour County.
Unfortunately, the home burned down several years ago. Some of the foundation and chimney is still visible (as of 2007), although it is mostly overgrown. I think it would be neat for someone to rebuild it someday, but obviously that is unlikely.
The location is near Arden at coordinates 39.21721326970817, -80.00330197735674 at the corner of Arden Rd (County Route 6) and Laurel Creek Rd (County Route 12) in Barbour County.
