Orley "Farmer" Reed

The book "Barbour County History" contained this photo along with the following caption:

Miners in Arden-Moatsville area include Elihu and Walter Mitchell, Noble Marsh, Andy Carpenter, Andy Shanabarger, and Andy "Farmer" Reed (Photo Courtesy of Patty Marsh)

I believe that given the previous two Andy's, the Andy "Farmer" Reed could have easily been misidentified. I think that Andy is in fact our Orley "Farmer" Reed. To support this conjecture, I would note that all of the men were born around the same time in the mid-1880s, like Orley. In the census records, Orley lived in the same area as the other men pictured, and there is no Andy Reed who lived in Barbour Co. working as a miner. Actually Orley, was not listed as miner in the census records either, however in 1942 on his WWII draft registration, his employer was listed as the Mountain Fuel Company. This company ran the Glen Cambria Mine in Barbour Co.
Finally he looks like a one of our Reeds, so for now I will call the man with the pipe Orley. Can any of you who had met Orley confirm this?

Answer: Orley's great-grandchildren said that their mother Shirley Semmelman, Orley's granddaugther, confirmed that this was indeed Orley.
